Built for the families of Fernandina’s mill workers and kept up ever since, the Chem Cell Club has hosted more first dances, birthday tables and reunion potlucks than anyone here has bothered to count. It sits on Riverside Drive with the water on one side and old oaks on the other.
We rent to one party per day. There is no second event down the hall, no hard stop at nine o’clock, and no one hurrying you out while you fold tablecloths. You get the building, the grounds, the kitchen and the parking lot for a full sixteen hours.

Dinner and dancing. We ask that amplified outdoor music outside winds down by 11 p.m. — the neighbors are close. Indoors, carry on.

A refundable security deposit holds the date. It comes back after the event, assuming the hall comes back the way you found it.
$750 rental plus the refundable $250 deposit, paid at the time of booking. That is what locks the date — nothing else to chase later.
One flat rate for the full sixteen hours, the same every day of the week. Tables, chairs and the kitchen are included in every rental.

About 10 minutes from Centre Street, 15 minutes from the beach, and 35 minutes from Jacksonville International Airport. Parking is on site, free, and holds roughly 75 to 100 vehicles.
Yes to both. Outside food is welcome and the kitchen is yours to use. Alcohol is permitted — no licensed bartender required, and no event insurance to buy. What we do ask is that you take responsibility for your guests: nobody under 21 served, nobody drinking past sense, and nobody driving impaired.
Yes — folding banquet tables and seating for 100, included with every rental. They are folding banquet tables, not rounds, so plan your layout and linens around that. Linens are not provided.
Saturdays in spring and fall go first — often nine to twelve months out. Weekdays and off-season dates are frequently available inside a month.
Yes. The security deposit is returned within 14 days after your event provided the hall is left clean, undamaged and cleared by midnight. It is separate from the rental fee.
Cancellations more than 90 days out receive a full refund of the rental fee; inside 90 days the fee is credited toward a future date within twelve months. The security deposit is always returned.
